You have the right to choose where you have your NHS treatment.
At Practice Plus Group Hospital, Shepton Mallet we offer free NHS treatments to all patients. You are not required to pay if you are an NHS patient and have been referred for treatment by your GP.
We also offer an affordable self pay option for patients who do not have health insurance, or have been told they are ineligible for NHS treatment.
Please note: All our surgical procedures will be carried out at our in-patient hospital at Shepton Mallet, even if you have an outpatient appointment at a different hospital.
This is a procedure often used to screen for colon cancer. An endoscope (a very thin, long camera) is passed through the anus to view the large bowel and parts of the small bowel. It also enables polyps to be removed.
This is an examination of the large intestine whereby a flexible endoscope is passed via the rectum through to the furthest part of the colon.
In this procedure an endoscope is used to look into the stomach to diagnose conditions. This is a very common procedure: more than 500,000 are performed by the NHS each year in England alone.
